Pearl diamond & gold Edwardian pendant & chain

This gorgeous pendant is in 15ct yellow gold on an 18ct yellow gold chain. The pendant was probably made in the Edwardian period but the chain is more modern. In the centre of the star shaped pendant is a round diamond claw set in a 15ct yellow gold star shaped setting. Radiating from the centre of the pendant at 12, 3,6 & 9 o'clock are 6 gold wires each one being "threaded" with three white/cream pearls of graduating size with the largest at the bottom (approx. 4mm) the medium sized in the middle (approx. 3.5mm) and the smallest at the top (approx. 3mm). There are 18 pearls in total. Each wire ends in a round gold bead. At the back of the pendant is a 15ct yellow gold wire that runs from the centre to the top of the pearl threaded wire that is at 12 o'clock and has been curled round to form the loop through which runs the 18ct yellow gold chain. The pendant appears to have been the centre part of a tiara which were frequently designed to be removed and worn as a separate piece of jewellery.
